Sade Sati questions

When does my Sade Sati start and end?

Sade Sati begins when Saturn enters the sign before your Moon sign and ends when it leaves the sign after it — about seven and a half years. Ayana finds the exact dates from your birth chart, including the months Saturn steps back into a sign while retrograde, and lists every Sade Sati in your lifetime.

What are the three phases of Sade Sati?

The rising phase is Saturn in the 12th sign from your Moon, the peak is Saturn over your Moon sign itself, and the setting phase is Saturn in the 2nd sign from the Moon. Each lasts roughly two and a half years and tends to touch different areas of life; the peak is traditionally the most intense.

What are Dhaiya, Ashtama and Ardhashtama Shani?

They are shorter Saturn periods of about two and a half years: Ashtama Shani is Saturn in the 8th sign from your Moon, and Ardhashtama (also called Kantaka or small Dhaiya) is Saturn in the 4th. Ayana dates them alongside Sade Sati.

Is Sade Sati always difficult?

No. It is traditionally a period of pressure, responsibility and maturing, but how it feels depends on the whole chart — for example, how much support Saturn has in the signs it crosses. Ayana shows those factors and frames everything as tendencies, never verdicts.
