Manglik check

Whether Mars sits in a house traditionally read as Manglik (1, 2, 4, 7, 8 or 12), counted from your rising sign and from your Moon — for one person, no partner needed.
Date of birth

As exact as you can — from a birth certificate if possible. A few minutes can change the rising sign.

Advanced settings (optional — the defaults suit most people)

Vedic astrology measures the zodiac from the fixed stars. Traditions place the starting point slightly differently (under 2°). Keep Lahiri unless you follow KP or Raman.

How the sky is divided into the 12 houses — the life areas like career, family and money.

Exact location

Only needed if your town isn't in the list. Leave the timezone blank to work it out from the coordinates (historical daylight saving is handled).

How it works

  1. 01Enter your birth date, time and place.
  2. 02The engine places Mars and counts its house from your rising sign and from your Moon.
  3. 03See both readings plainly — and use Kundli matching to compare two people.

Questions about the manglik check

What is Mangal dosha (Manglik)?

A traditional marriage check: Mars in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house, counted from the rising sign and from the Moon. Six of the twelve houses count, so roughly half of all charts are Manglik by each count.

Is being Manglik bad?

It is a traditional check, offered for information — not a verdict on a person or a relationship. Many traditions also list cancellations; Ayana doesn't compute those, and never treats this as a reason to marry, reject or pressure anyone.

Why from the rising sign and from the Moon?

Traditions differ on which point to count from; the two most common are the rising sign and the Moon, and Ayana shows both separately rather than combining them.

Do I need my birth time?

For the reading from the rising sign, yes. The reading from the Moon usually works with the date alone — the tool says which it could compute.
